Inductor series parallel formula



The formulas for calculating the total inductance in series and parallel combinations of inductors are as follows:
  1. Series Inductors: In a series combination of inductors, the total inductance (L_total) is the sum of the individual inductances (L1, L2, L3, ..., Ln).
    The formula is: L_total = L1 + L2 + L3 + ... + Ln

     
  2. Parallel Inductors: In a parallel combination of inductors, the reciprocal of the total inductance (1/L_total) is equal to the sum of the reciprocals of the individual inductances (1/L1, 1/L2, 1/L3, ..., 1/Ln).
    The formula is: 1/L_total = 1/L1 + 1/L2 + 1/L3 + ... + 1/Ln
    To find the total inductance (L_total) in a parallel combination, you can take the reciprocal of both sides: L_total = 1 / (1/L1 + 1/L2 + 1/L3 + ... + 1/Ln)
